Daniel Libeskind

Daniel Libeskind wurde1946 in Polen geboren.Er emigrierte im Alter von zehn Jahren mit seiner jüdischen Familie nach Israel. Drei Jahre später folgte der Umzug in die USA. 1965 nahm die Familie Libeskind die amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft an. Sein Studium der Architektur schloss er 1970 an der „Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art“ in New York ab. Anschließend promovierte er in Architekturgeschichte und -theorie an der „School of Comparative Studies“ in Essex. Darauf folgte eine Dekanatsstelle an der „Cranbrook Academy of Art“ in Bloomfield Hills in Michigan. Im Jahr 1989 zog Daniel Libeskind mit seiner Familie nach Berlin. Dort gründete er das Architekturbüro Studio Daniel Libeskind. Den Hauptsitz hat das Büro heute in New York.

This was followed by a Dean's position at the "Cranbrook Academy of art" in Bloomfield Hills in Michigan. In 1989, Daniel Libeskind moved with his family to Berlin. There, he founded the architectural firm Studio Daniel Libeskind. The Office now has headquarters in New York.
